Effect of Pix on Fiber Quality--Brazos Bottom Study

R.E. Childers, T.E. Buscha and L.B. Wilde

ABSTRACT

The effect of Pix on fiber quality was studied using irrigated, picker-type cotton production practices in the Brazos River Bottom of Texas. Preliminary data indicate no adverse effects due to Pix on any of the HVI fiber properties analyzed. There are strong indications that Pix may have improved fiber length and strength. HVI grade appears to have been improved slightly by the Pix applications.
