ABSTRACT

A metering and delivery system using a ram-venturi and a high velocity plume was developed for distributing predacious mites carried on corn cob grits in a 8-row swath for cotton. The rate adjustment was linear and repeatable in the range between 5 and 9 liters per acre. With nozzle velocities exceeding 13000 fpm the grit were distributed to a distance greater than 30 feet.
