An Evaluation of Five Foliar Applied Products to Enhance Yields of DPL 50 Cotton

Stephen D. Livingston, Darwin A. Anderson, and Bradley P. Cowan

ABSTRACT

Three commercially available and two experimental, foliar products were applied to DPL-50 cotton at two locations in South Texas. Lint yields and fiber quality changes were evaluated for Bright Sun, Propel, PGR-4, C-1 and low rate multiple applications of PIX. No statistically significant differences in cotton lint production were noted from treatments made to irrigated or dryland cotton. Positive yield trends were noted with four of the product treatments used. The 4 oz rate of PIX demonstrated increased fiber strength for the third consecutive year. No other fiber quality features were effected in any other treatments evaluated.
