ABSTRACT

The experimental cage gin was installed in a commercial roller gin. The quality of the lint and spinning performance from the cage gin were compared with lint ginned from roller and saw ginning methods. The yarns made from cage ginned lint were stronger with fewer imperfections than yarns spun from saw and roller ginned lint for four of the five varieties.
