The Benefits of a Starter Fertilizer High in Phosphate That Can Be Sprayed on the Leaves of Seedling Cotton

James W. Chiles and J. Larry Chiles

ABSTRACT

Starter fertilizer low on chlorine and high in phosphates that can be sprayed on the leaves of the cotton plant after a stand has been established can improve the root system, increase early fruiting and enhance the chance of maturing an early crop. Herbicide stunt and seedling disease are delaying the development of the cotton plant, which makes this program a necessity in modern-day cotton farming.
