Cotton Yield Response to Calcium-Nitrogen Fertilization

Jerry H. Stoller

ABSTRACT

Three research experiments were conducted in 1990 by various researchers at Texas A&M University and the University of California concerning the use of Nitro Plus (calcium monocarbamide) as both a side dressed material and a foliar applied material. One year's research indicate that Nitro Plus is more efficient than nitrogen solutions as a side dressed source of nitrogen on cotton; is a much more efficient source than urea as a foliar on cotton, and can be used as a side dressed material 80 days after planting to stimulate yield increases without causing excessive vegetative growth.
