Cotton cost of production data are used throughout the industry. The Economic Research Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture annually published cost of production data for cotton and other program crops. Various uses of cost of reduction data are illustrated and new information on the distribution of cotton cost of production among producers and between regions is presented.
