Formulation of Socially Efficient Economic Injury Levels for Insecticide Use in IPM

J.R.C. Robinson and R.D. Lacewell

ABSTRACT

The paper focuses upon the incorporation of external costs from using insecticides into the private producer's insecticide decision model. Economic injury levels and thresholds are discussed, together with the effects of elevating threshold levels by including additional cost estimates. Several methods of incorporation are compared, and research needs are discussed.
