New concepts in deep band placement of fertilizer and dry lime are being evaluated by researchers on the Delta Branch of the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station in Stoneville. Off station field trials have been conducted by Delta Branch researchers and local producers. Applicators used in these trials were supplied by the Delta Branch and by M.G. Dickey Industries, Inc. Several growers have purchased deep band applicators and data will continue to be compiled on this new practice. M.G. Dickey Ind., Inc. will continue to develop and market this new equipment, and assist producers who want to conduct tests on their farms.
