Bale Selection for Barky Cotton Spinning Test

Dale L. Shaw

ABSTRACT

The experimental design and bale selection criteria for a spinning test involving various levels of trash or non-lint content (grade), bark and micronaire are discussed.

Problems in finding bales that would meet all selection criteria and resolution of these problems are presented. Basic data on the 54 selected bales used in the study are reported as an introduction to the two papers that follow.
