HVI Strength Measurements: Levels and Stability

S.R. Griffith

ABSTRACT

The HVI Check Level Program is now being conducted industry-wide in order to achieve and maintain more uniform HVI test levels. Results show that good progress is being made in improving the HVI strength levels of the participating organizations.

Procedures for establishing standard values for HVI Calibration Cottons were revised in an effort to improve strength values. Monitoring of standard values over an extended period indicates that strength of raw HVI Calibration Cottons may be more consistent than strength of carded cotton.
