Estimated Differences in Economic Returns Between Custom Aerial Application and Private Mist Blower Application of Insecticide in the El Paso Valley of Texas

J.R.C. Robinson and R.D. Lacewell

ABSTRACT

Partial budgeting was used to compare differences in estimated costs and returns between two insecticide application technologies in different cotton production settings. It was estimated that a mist blower application system reduced insecticide use and producer total costs of production by up to $35 per acre while maintaining cotton lint yields.
