ABSTRACT

Before a biometrician can advise his clients on the number of replicates for comparing two treatments, the experimenter must provide the following information: (a) common standard deviation of data from same treatment; (b) smallest difference between treatments that is of interest; (c) probability of detecting the above difference; and (d) probability of spuriously finding a difference.
