Effect of Tight Lock on Nep Production in Cotton Fibers

Jacques J. Hebert and Devron P. Thibodeaux

ABSTRACT

Data has been obtained from selective samples of cotton known to contain an inordinate amount of the phenomenon known as "tightlock". The data implies that this characteristic may be involved in the origin of the so called polished surface or 'pancake" type nep which can be prevalent on the surface of dyed fabrics.
