GINSTAR EC: A New Defoliant for Cotton

J.F. Stewart and D. Dwyer

ABSTRACT

Ginstar EC is a new cotton (Gossupium spp.) defoliant form Nor-Am Chemical Company which has provided excellent cotton defoliation in California and Arizona. University, consultant and in-house testing from 1984 to 1988 have shown Ginstar to be a consistently effective defoliant when compared to the standard defoliants. Ginstar also provides effective re-growth inhibition and has distinct environmental advantages including a lack of odor. Full registration of Ginstar is expected in 1990.
