Crop Simulation for the Analysis and Management of Cotton Production Systems: Soil Systems

Frank D. Whisler

ABSTRACT

The GOSSYM/COMAX cotton simulation model uses individual soil hydrology and other physical information files to simulate water, nutrient and heat movement as well as root growth and nutrient uptake. The grower also supplies individual weather and cultural practices for each field, thereby adapting this model to his specific conditions. Future research needs are also discussed.
