New Drying Systems Research

S.E. Hughs

ABSTRACT

An overview of current drying research will be presented, with emphasis on how the results can be applied to commercial cotton gin drying systems. The goal of any seed-cotton drying system is to keep a continually changing flow of drying air in contact with the fiber surfaces. A potential exists for performing the drying function of present drying systems with less energy input and less fiber damage from high air temperatures.
