An overview of current drying research will be presented, with emphasis on how the results can be applied to commercial cotton gin drying systems. The goal of any seed-cotton drying system is to keep a continually changing flow of drying air in contact with the fiber surfaces. A potential exists for performing the drying function of present drying systems with less energy input and less fiber damage from high air temperatures. |
