Grid Bar Studies and a Feed Control System for a Stripper Mounted Cleaner

Lambert H. Wilkes, Kenneth E. Watkins and W.F. Lalor

ABSTRACT

New grid bar designs significantly improved the cleaning efficiencies of stripper-mounted cleaners. Using the manufacturer's standard grid bars on the primary cylinder with new grid bars on the reclaimer resulted in increased cleaning efficiency without excessive seed cotton loss. Laboratory tests indicate that performance of cleaners can also be improved by using a feed control system.
