ABSTRACT

A study was conducted to evaluate cotton yield response to supplemental water applied with center-pivot irrigation systems on cooperating farms in the Delta Area of Mississippi. Yield response was determined by using paired plots based on cation exchange capacity (CEC) and soil pH. A break-even analysis, using selected prices, was used to evaluate the estimated yield increase. Costs of production were obtained from field diaries furnished by producers.
