Dynamic Patterns in Cotton Production: Is the Structure Changing?

Don E. Ethridge and Kenneth W. Bowman

ABSTRACT

Regional patterns in cotton acreage, production, yields, costs, and profits in the United States are examined. Significant shifts in economic viability of the cotton industry between regions may be occurring. Comparisons among regions are presented and some implications for interregional and international adjustments are drawn.
