Fruiting and Growth Characteristics of Cotton Grown under Drip and Conventional Irrigation

Charles Stichler

ABSTRACT

Much work has been done to describe the fruiting habits of a cotton plant, however, no information has been gathered on the effects that drip irrigation has on stripper cotton in west Texas. The plant mapping experiments discussed here show that the cotton plant responds under drip irrigation in a similar manner as under furrow irrigation. The biggest variable in regard to the fruiting habit is not irrigation, but plant spacing.
