ABSTRACT

COMAX/GOSSYM was implemented for the first time in Texas in 1987 on the Don Angonia Farm in the Brazos bottom. An interdisciplinary team of engineers and agronomists from the Texas Agricultural Extension Service, Texas Agricultural Experiment Station, and USDA worked together on this effort. The result of this first year's effort was successful. Difficulties were encountered; however, the team gained the knowledge and confidence to expand the number of cooperators in Texas to a minimum of 8 in 1988. Preliminary research results, along with problems encountered, are described in this paper.
