Nutsedge Problems in Southeastern Cotton

Mike Patterson and Dale Monks

ABSTRACT

Sixteen consultant, research, and extension workers in Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina responded to a survey pertaining to nutsedge problems in southeastern U.S. cotton. In addition, the results of a survey of Alabama cotton producers concerning problem weeds and herbicide usage is also included. Over two hundred cotton producers representing 1/3 of the acreage planted in Alabama responded. Only responses concerning nutsedge infestations and herbicides specific to nutsedge control are reported.
