Control of Cotton Aphids in Mississippi Cotton
|
ABSTRACT A series of small plot insecticide efficacy trials were conducted during the growing seasons of 2000, 2001, and 2002 to evaluate control of cotton aphids on cotton. Once they reach treatable levels cotton aphid populations usually decline quickly, whether or not they are treated. However, treatment with an effective aphicide can provide control several days sooner than relying on natural control. Treatments that provided effective aphid control in these trials included: Furadan (carbofuran), Bidrin (dicrotophos), Centric (thiamethoxam), Assail/Intruder (acetamiprid), Trimax/Provado (imidacloprid), and Fulfil (pymetrozine). |
