Field Performance of Vip Cotton
Against Various Lepidopteran Cotton Pests in the U. S. |
ABSTRACT In 2002, Vip cotton was evaluated across the cotton belt to determine its activity against various cotton insect pests. Vip provided efficacious control of numerous lepidopteran cotton pests including the tobacco budworm (Heliothis virescens Fabricius), cotton bollworm (Helicoverpa zea Boddie), soybean looper (Pseudoplusia includens Walker), beet armyworm (Spodoptera exigua Hübner) and cotton leaf perforator (Bucculatrix thurberiella Busck). The insect pest protection provided by Vip resulted in significant yield increases. |
