Cotton Insect Losses 2002
|
ABSTRACT Cotton losses to arthropods were light in 2002. Pests reduced overall yields by 4.61%. The bollworm/budworm complex retained the top ranking as the number one cotton pest by reducing yields by 2.31%. Lygus was number two at 0.72%, Thrips were 3rd at 0.447% and stinkbugs were 4th at 0.446%. Total cost and loss for insects in 2002 was $1.140 billion. Direct management costs for arthropods were $59.51 per acre. |
