World Cotton Market Conditions

Terry P. Townsend

ABSTRACT

World cotton yields are not rising because of difficulties controlling disease and pests in several countries, poor systems for delivering inputs to growers and changes in government policies. World consumption is rising, and as a consequence stocks are falling. Season average cotton prices are expected to climb over the next several years.
