Release of CRS Backcrossed to 94l-25

D. G. Jones, C. W. Smith and C. Eixmann

ABSTRACT

Seventy-nine of the converted race stocks (CRS) were backcrossed to an advanced breeding line, TAM94L-25, a breeding line with superior fiber quality. Seed from the BC 2F2 generation for 53 of the CRS and BC3F2 generation for 26 of the CRS are available for distribution. Approximately
0.5 lb of selfed seed and about 3 lb of open-pollinated seed are available. Seed will be dispersed as requested, until the supply is exhausted. Interested scientists should contact C. Wayne Smith, Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, TAMUS 2474, Texas A&M University, College Station, TX 77843-2474 (cwsmith@tamu.edu). These populations potentially contain genes from the entire genome of each of the CRS involved.
