Breeding Against Seed Coat Fragments in Cotton Fiber (Gossypium hirsutum L.) Using Image Analysis on Card Web

Bruno Bachelier and Serge Lassus

ABSTRACT

The presence of seed coat fragments in cotton fiber is a major handicap for the textile industry. To meet the demands made by their partners, cotton researchers in Cameroon have developed a varietal creation program designed to combat seed coat fragments. Trashcam image analysis is used in the program to select varieties with reduced seed coat fragment content.
