During 1997 Premier Polytronics began a program to substantially improve the performance of their HVI systems to be delivered to customers in India, Europe and Asia. They began looking at the major problems facing those customers. The result was a more ridged hardware design with simple components in the length and strength testing modules and a color - trash unit which was isolated electric power fluctuations. As a result of this upgrade program, most of the cotton fiber measurements are significantly more reproducible than those prior instruments in use. Their customers have responded favorably. HVI testing of cotton in the region has greatly expanded.
