ABSTRACT
In 1988, Helena Chemical Company introduced ASSET for use in corn as a fertilizer additive designed to increase root development resulting in a stronger plant and increased yields. Because of mixing difficulties with ASSET and fertilizer, it was determined that a "ready-to-use" formulation would be much better. The new formulation, ASSET RTU, was developed in 1994 and entered field testing in cotton at selected locations across the Cotton Belt in 1995. In three years of studies at universities and with private researchers, ASSET RTU applications at 24 oz product per acre resulted in significant increase in cotton yields with a positive return on investment.
