AgrEvo USA Company will be introducing DECIS (deltamethrin), a new pyrethroid, to the U.S. cotton marketplace for the 1996 season. DECIS 0.2 EC received U. S. registration on cotton in mid 1995 with registration of the 1.5EC formulation expected in early 1996. DECIS contains the active ingredient, deltamethrin, which is resolved into its most highly potent isomer obtained by high technological industrial synthesis.

Data from numerous sites across the cotton belt show that DECIS, at the use rate of 0.019 lb ai/acre, performs comparably to Karate at 0.025 lb ai/Acre against bollworm, tobacco budworm and boll weevil. This is reflected by larval counts, damage ratings and yield. Similarly, DECIS at 0.025 or 0.03 lb ai/A performs very comparably to Karate at 0.03 or 0.04 lb ai/A, respectively.

DECIS is a very potent pyrethroid which can be used at a relatively low use rate to provide effective control of major cotton insects. AgrEvo USA Company is committed to bring forth this new pyrethroid to the marketplace in 1996.
