West Texas Ginner to Lead NCGA in 2008
The Memphis-based National Cotton Ginners Association elected its officers for 2008 at its annual meeting in Memphis on Feb. 9.
 
NCC Sees Lower U.S. Cotton Production, Tightening Stocks

NCC Survey Suggests U.S. Producers to Plant 9.5 Million Acres of Upland/ELS Cotton in 2008
U.S. cotton producers intend to plant 9.5 million acres of cotton this spring, down almost 12% from '07, according to the NCC’s 25th Annual Early Season Planting Intentions Survey.
 
Weil, II Elected 2008 Cotton Council International President
Robert S. Weil, II, a Montgomery, AL, cotton merchant, will serve as 2008 president of Cotton Council International.

Industry Delegates' 2008 Resolutions Will Help NCC Meet Challenges in Farm Policy, Trade Arenas
Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) and newly confirmed Secretary of Agriculture Ed Schafer will address the NCC's 70th Annual Meeting, set for Feb. 7-11, at The Peabody Hotel in Memphis.
