FAPRI Analyst Gary Adams Joins NCC as Vice President for Economics and Policy Analysis
Dr. Gary Adams, director of Crop Program Analysis for the Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute at the University of Missouri, was named vice president for Economics and Policy Analysis at the NCC effective July 1.
 
Securing Key Farm Law Provisions Challenges Cotton, Agriculture
NCC Chairman Kenneth Hood told the organization's directors that securing the key provisions of new farm law and defending it against unjust criticism are challenges facing the U.S. cotton industry and all of agriculture.

NCC Counsel William Gillon told the NCC directors at its Spring meeting that trade issues, including Trade Promotion Authority, continue to very important to the U.S. cotton industry.

Cotton Foundation President Jimmy Dodson provided NCC directors an update on that institution and reminded them that the U.S. cotton industry’s need for cotton research and education has never been greater.

NCC Vice President, Washington Operations A. John Maguire provided an overview of the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002.
 
U.S. and World Cotton Economic Outlook
NCC Vice President of Policy Analysis and Program Coordinator Mark Lange updated the NCC directors on the economic state of the cotton industry.
