This week’s cotton newsline is 3 cuts.  Both cuts are Tim Kavan, private land conservationist for Mississippi, New Madrid and Pemiscot Counties.

Through the CRP program there is an opportunity to participate in the field border, or buffer program.  Tim Kavan, private land conservationist for Mississippi, New Madrid and Pemiscot Counties, says this program enables land owners to take the marginal production ground out of production and put it into wild life habitat.

According to Kavan, when a farmer is considering this program, he needs to have a good understanding of the goals he would like to achieve.
