Senior Agriculture Specialist at Capital One Bank, Leo Nelson, said Louisiana cotton producers, after enduring Hurricanes Ike and Gustav in 2008, were hit again in 2009 with above average rainfall at harvest causing substantial costs to this season’s cotton crop.
