This week’s Cotton Newsline is 2 cuts.  Both cuts are Robbie Minnich, senior government relations representative for the National Cotton Council.

Suggested introduction cut 1:
USDA announced a new initiative to improve water quality and the overall health of the Mississippi River Basin.  Robbie Minnich, senior government relations representative for the National Cotton Council says this is an initiative that was set forth by the farm bill.

Suggested introduction cut 2:
Minnich says the MRBI will help agriculture producers implement conservation and management practices that avoid, control and trap nutrient runoff.

Suggested Conclusion
In addition to other federal state and partner funding, Minnich says NRCS is targeting $80 million annually over the next four years through Cooperative Conservation Partnership Initiative, Conservation Innovation Grants and the Wetlands Reserve Enhancement Program.
