Ways producers can reduce energy costs for their irrigation systems.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is 3 cuts.  All cuts are Dr. Joe Henggeler, Irrigation Specialist at the University of Missouri Delta Center.

Energy prices have been climbing since 2004  -- Dr. Joe Henggeler, irrigation specialist at the University of Missouri Delta Center, is seeking ways producers can reduce energy costs for their irrigation systems.  With electricity costs half as expensive as diesel and propane, Henggeler says producers in the Mid-South should consider electricity over fuel.

Henggeler says load management is also an option -- working with your utility company to water when their loads are light can net a huge savings.
