USDA has published the October cotton crop report. Dr. Gary Adams, Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council, says the estimate for the 2008-2009 US crop is 13.71 million bales.

Adams says they were expecting a smaller cotton crop this year due to fewer acres being planted.
