Based on interpretation of the language in the Research Title of the 2008 Farm Bill, land grant universities may have to compete for research funding.  This week, Keith Menchey, Manager of Science and Environmental Issues for the National Cotton Council, expressed the industry’s concern about the adverse impact of these changes at the USDA – CSREES Listening Session.
