The National Cotton Council of America and the China Cotton Association signed a “Memorandum of Understanding” this week. The document was signed by China Cotton Association Secretary General Madam Gao (pronounced g-ow) Fang and Council Chairman Allen Helms in a ceremony at the Memphis Cotton Museum.

Suggested introduction cut 2:

According to Helms it’s important to develop mutually beneficial trade and increased cooperation among the U.S. and Chinese cotton industries.

Suggested introduction cut 3:

Helms recently led the U.S. delegation to China as part of the China Leadership Exchange Program. The tour familiarized the U.S. delegation with the market demands and China’s views by experiencing that country’s development firsthand – from farm to mill.
