This week’s Cotton Newsline is 2 cuts. All cuts are Mr. John Pucheu (pronounced pa-shoe) Vice-Chairman of the National Cotton Council and a producer from Tranquillity, California.
Suggested introduction cut 1:
National Cotton Council Vice-Chairman John Pucheu, participated in a series of meetings in Geneva, Switzerland on key trade matters. The Tranquillity, California producer believes the Doha Round of the WTO will fall apart with no agreement unless some significant compromises are made over the next couple weeks.
Suggested introduction cut 2:
During meetings with WTO staff and a delegation from the Brazilian government, Pucheu conveyed the cotton industry's concern about the current state of trade negotiations. Specifically, he stressed that US agriculture must see real and meaningful gains in market access in order to accept the reductions in domestic support currently being proposed.
