The National Cotton Council’s 2006 Economic Outlook was presented to delegates during the organization’s annual meeting. Dr. Gary Adams, the Council’s Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis says the ability to increase demand and regain market share relative to manmade fibers is paramount.
Suggested introduction cut 2:
According to Adams, the Council is expecting a slight increase in acreage devoted to cotton production in the United States.
Suggested introduction cut 3:
With projected consumption exceeding production, Adams says stock levels are forecast to fall during the 2006-2007 marketing year.
