At this point some of the discussions in Hong Kong appear to have changed more to the developmental side of the Doha talks rather than the trade side.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is 3 cuts.  All cuts are Dr. Mark Lange, President and CEO of the National Cotton Council.

World Trade Organization’s Doha Round of talks began Monday in Hong Kong. At this point some of the discussions in Hong Kong appear to have changed more to the developmental side of the Doha talks rather than the trade side according to Dr. Mark Lange, President and CEO of the National Cotton Council.

Suggested introduction cut 2:

Lange says there has been an effort on the part of some non-government organizations - as well as perhaps some in the EU- to put cotton into the spot light in Hong Kong.

Suggested introduction cut 3:

Lange believes U.S. agriculture is still several months away from knowing the specifics.
