The Farm Bill listening sessions that took place this summer started a lot of discussion about changes to the current farm program.  Will Tippitt, Farm Loan Manager at the Farm Service Agency in Fayette County, Tennessee says keeping the current Farm Bill in place is important for producers and their financial planning.

Suggested introduction cut 2:

Another Farm Bill hot topic is the amendment that Senators Grassley and Dorgan tried to push through the Senate to change current payment limitations on farm programs. But the amendment was defeated by the Senate on a procedural vote.  According to Tippitt if this amendment had passed it would have been detrimental to the cotton industry.
