In the latest round of textile talks between the U.S. and China progress was made on some issues but a comprehensive agreement has not been reached.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is 2 cuts.  All cuts are Dr. Gary Adams, Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council.

According to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, the latest round of textile talks between the U.S. and China has resulted in a comprehensive agreement designed to limit the growth in imports. Dr. Gary Adams, Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council, comments on the reported details of the agreement.


Suggested introduction cut 2:

Since the quotas were lifted in January the U.S. has seen a surge of imports. According to Adams the safeguards have worked but a comprehensive agreement with China would be more beneficial.
