Agricultural Secretary Mike Johanns has announced USDA’s plans for re-enrollment in the Conservation Reserve Program for acres expiring in 2007 through 2010.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is three cuts.  All cuts are Robbie Minnich (pronounced Men-ic), Senior Government Relations Representative for the National Cotton Council.

Suggested introduction cut 1:

Agricultural Secretary Mike Johanns has announced USDA’s plans for re-enrollment in the Conservation Reserve Program for acres expiring in 2007 through 2010, according to Robbie Minnich, Senior Government Relations Representative for the National Cotton Council.

Suggested introduction cut 2:

Minnich says the Farm Service Agency will use the Environmental Benefits Index or EBI that was in place when the contracts were first written to determine who might be able to re-enroll or extend their CRP contract.

Suggested introduction cut 3:

According to Minnich in the spring of 2006 FSA will notify producers who have contracts expiring on September 30, 2007 to discuss whether those contracts are eligible for re-enrollment or extensions.
