Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns and U.S. Trade Representative Rob Portman announced the appointment of private sector members to the six Agricultural Technical Advisory Committees for Trade.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is three cuts.  All cuts are Dr. Gary Adams Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council.

Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns and U.S. Trade Representative Rob Portman announced the appointment of private sector members to the six Agricultural Technical Advisory Committees for Trade.  Dr. Gary Adams, Vice-President of Ecomonics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council was one of several from the cotton industry appointed to the Tobacco, Cotton, Peanuts and Planting Seeds Technical Advisory Committee.

The Agricultural Technical Advisory Committees are trade advisory committees that are composed of industry members who serve to advise government officials regarding matters related to trade policy.

Suggested introduction cut 3:

According to Adams Congress established the advisory committees in 1974 to ensure a private sector voice in establishing the US agricultural trade policy objectives.
