This week’s Cotton Newsline is three cuts. All cuts are Woods Eastland, recently elected chairman of the National Cotton Council. Eastland also serves as president and chief executive officer of Greenville, Mississippi based Staplcotn.

A decision on the Brazil/WTO cotton case could be reached as early as March, says Wood Eastland, 2005 chairman of the National Cotton Council.

During recent comments at the Louisiana Cotton Producers meeting, Eastland said the Council will continue to monitor China’s trade obligations required under the WTO.

Eastland believes the Brazil decision by the WTO next month will end favorably for U.S. cotton.
