Not only will conservation tillage improve soil by increasing organic matter, it also helps producers conserve water and operating costs.

Since the early 1990s, Page has worked with producers on conversion to conservation tillage. With input costs continuing to rise, Page thinks conservation tillage has a proven record as a cost-saving practice.

Although it’s too late to prepare upcoming cotton acreage for conservation tillage, Page encourages producers to begin considering implementation plans.
